Meeting up with Silent Signal

Charcoal zebrafish loop from Samantha Moore on Vimeo.

I'm really looking forward to catching up with the other members of the Silent Signal team when we all meet in London on Wednesday to liaise with Animate Projects about our progress (the full list of project teams are below, for more detail see here).

I've had a bit less time than I'd optimistically hoped (of course) but have had great fun drawing zebrafish, getting scientists to do drawings, making clips of animation, thinking about how this project could develop into a fully funded film and playing with different media.

See a couple of the animation clips above.

Septin cage loops test...

LOOP Septin loops from Samantha Moore on Vimeo.

Happy 2014!

This is a tiny animated test from the Animate Projects piece I'm working on as part of 'Silent Signal' project, working with Dr Serge Mostowy.

It is a test for the basic movement of sub-cellular septin cytoskeleton dynamics as it progresses from individual ring like structures to a double loop 'cage'. Working on this project has been a fascinating insight into the scientific process, and although my scientific understanding is painfully slow in developing, I love the passion for their work of all the scientists I've met in Serge's lab. You can see updates on the project here.
